Our Mission
Ending Malaria in the African Diaspora
We don’t want people travelling back home to get malaria. Our main goal is to give our communities the information they need about preventing malaria in a way that truly connects with our culture and experiences, along with real solutions to stop malaria in its tracks. By getting the word out, working together, and really getting the diaspora involved, we're dedicated to bringing down malaria cases in our community.
Outreach
We held a stall in North Middlesex Hospital recently. This was a great opportunity to reach out to our community about malaria. We are planning more stalls in hospitals, community centres and will also be holding virtual events to answer your questions about malaria and to show you how to avoid malaria. If you are interested in us coming to talk to your community about malaria please reach out to us!
Advocacy
Some of our team were invited to the UK Parliamentary event for World Malaria Day in May 2025. Our co-founder, Dr. Diana Ayoola Mabayoje, shared her experience of having malaria as a child and her professional insights on malaria, emphasising how crucial community involvement and advocacy are for preventing malaria.
We're now connecting with global health and malaria partners to figure out how we can help with malaria efforts and champion malaria prevention.
Our initiative was promoted by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) in summer 2025 and we have worked with them on a health communication toolkit for people visiting friends and relatives abroad
